Steve Jobs resigns, hands over reins of Apple to Tim Cook

Quite a shocker to the tech world today when Steve Jobs, CEO, Apple announced his resignation from the post. He has recommended the the current COO, Tim Cook’s name as his successor. Jobs has come up with decision on medical grounds. It seems his cancer is getting worse day by day and though this man is a fighter, he is not able to keep up.

Just a week back Apple crossed Exxon Mobil Corp. to become the #1 company of the world for a brief time. Under the supervision of Jobs, apple has come out of its verge-of-bankruptcy days and give us world-class products like the iPod, iPad and iPhone. The company has grown under his leadership by leaps and his vision is unbeatable.

The world did not take the NEWS well and Apple saw its share dip more than 4% in pre-market dealings. Though Jobs is stepping down from the post of CEO, he will still be an Apple employee and part of the company as the Chairman of the company. Tim Cooks who will be the running the company as its CEO will definitely face a big challenge in getting in the shoes of Jobs though he has handled the office earlier a couple of times when Jobs was sick. Also under Jobs shadows, he has learned all the tricks to face the challenge. Though how much he can push the company further to match Job’s vision is something we will get to see only in the coming days.

Today can be marked as an important day for the tech world as the man not just revived the company but brought about tremendous change in technology and the way it should be treated. Afterall better competition leads to better products and apple’s benchmark in Innovation and User Experience has always forced others to push themselves a notch higher.
